About us

So, you made it to our ‘About Us’ page!

Hi, my name is Neha. I’ve always wondered if people even have the time to read these often forgotten about section of websites. Perhaps I am the only person on Earth who wants to know more about the small businesses I support whole-heartedly.

Well, you’ve made it this far, so you may as well read the rest.

Mimi & Coco is a South -Australian-owned family-run business.

I grew up in a household full of craftsmanship, my mother was in textiles and my father ran an ethical-fashion company, this is where my passion for crafts and leather goods started! I've always been a lover of good quality handbags that are sustainable and last longer than a year. I made it my personal mission to source my favorite designs from Italy, delivered straight to my door.

As a slow fashion brand, we’re committed to delivering an effortless style that’s trans-seasonal and versatile. Our carefully curated collections include sophisticated classics for timeless style and the latest season must-haves.

We believe things should be made to last. You will not find a new collection or trend colors from us every season, instead, you will find new releases to add to your wardrobe which are timeless, long-lasting and high quality.

We strongly believe that every woman deserves to look and feel beautiful in what they wear and fashion isn't going to change the world, its the WOMEN who wear them that will <3

Mimi & Coco works with a century-old factory in Italy where the craft of handbag making has been passed on from generation to generation. They’re amazing in what they do and rest assured that our supplier implements ethical working conditions.

Each hide has unique natural markings and characteristics which are maintained during the tanning process. The end result is a genuine and lush appearance, and best of all, it ages beautifully. Over time our products will develop a ‘patina’, adding to its uniqueness. Our manufacturers have a strict anti-child-labor policy, fair wages according to local laws, no forced labor, and mutually agreed fair working hours.

The manufacturers we use have a strong commitment to working with leather which is the strictly by-product of the meat industry. No animals are harmed for the sole purpose of creating our products.

Last but not the least, we believe in quality over quantity.

We use home compostable shipping mailers which are eco-friendly and best for modern-day shipping solutions. They are reusable and these mailers are 100% home compostable, but also made from such materials that if they ended up in landfills, they would still break down with no waste.

We will continue to work on our mission to save the Earth. So stay tuned!
